ck to the horse. The bent-over guy (still in his thongs) was there, and we reexamined the foot. In a desperate attempt to get to an abscess, I dug down into the sole and found a possible track going to the area that seemed sore. I grabbed a sterile needle and inserted it easily into the hole. God does not love a coward. I also inserted it from an opposite spot on his coronary band, which was now swelling and looking sore. I injected some disinfectant. He jumped, but all in all he was extremely tolerant to my poking and prodding. I suggested that the boys soak his foot in warm Epsom Salt. I don't know if it really helps, but we were in a bind.
